Confirmed: James Iha Completes Circle

Former Smashing Pumpkins guitarist James Iha has joined A Perfect Circle and
will be on board for the band's upcoming U.S. tour, a spokesperson confirms.
Iha replaces Troy Van Leeuwen, who left APC to join Queens Of The Stone Age.
He does not contribute to APC's next Virgin album, "Thirteenth Step," due
Sept. 16.
Iha has kept a low profile since the demise of Smashing Pumpkins, devoting
much of his time to running the New York recording studio [Scratchie
Records?] he co-owns with members of Ivy. The artist guests on Fountains Of
Wayne's new S-Curve album, "Welcome Interstate Managers."

The End of ZWAN?

Following the cancellation of their eagerly awaited UK tour, Billy Corgan
and crew's future now looks rather bleak.
According to her former band mate, Billy Howedel of A Perfect Circle, Paz
Lenchantin has left Zwan and is working on a new project with Zwan guitarist
Dave Pajo. “I just spoke to her a few days ago and apparently she’s out of
that band now,” Howedel told rock sound.
The future of Zwan, who recently cancelled their scheduled European tour
citing ‘Family Reasons’ remains unclear at this point. |

Update: DEVIATION CONTEST "SIAMESE DREAM"
This will be a contest just so everyone becomes aware of everyone else's
styles and such... you entries should be in any medium: photography, prose,
3d media (take pic and scan it plz), drawings scanned, whatever, i dont care
and it should be about the dis, SIAMESE DREAM; it can be about a particular
song or about how that album influenced your life that year, or currently,
but it must be SIAMESE DREAM oriented!! I cant wait for the submissions,
everyone!!
I will setup a voting poll on the website once i get a good amount of
submissions in, the priority date is now changed to July 22nd, since most of
you have been requesting extra time. remember, the first entries will be
post up to my SPclub site immediately for you guys to vote on, so hopefully
i get a lot in :) (Smile) Remember, don't hesitate to stretch the limits on
the song interpretations or what-have-you for your projects. you dont
necessarity have to have any words in your project. it could be a photo,
with mock up scene of something that popped into your mind from one random
verse of a song, or maybe just the music itself! dont limit yourselves to
just monochromatic pencil sketches...
and since the work is maily supposed to be siamese-dream oriented, doesnt
mean that is HAS to have 100% all to do with the album... if you have a
mental connection between songs from different albums (when i hear starla i
think of disarm as well...its wierd...) throw some of that influence in
there too. |
